PLJBD has had the privilege of designing corporate facilities for multiple companies in the region.  Most of these have developed into long lasting relationships due to our commitment to quality design and ability to listen to the customers' needs and expectations.


Certified Express, Inc.

Neosho, MO

  • This 31,600 SF facility includes 18,200 SF of truck/trailer maintenance and 13,400 of corporate office space.
  • With twelve 130-foot bays, it can accommodate twelve tractor/trailers at the same time.
  • This state-of-the-art complex includes VRF HVAC system for the office and waste oil furnaces for the shop that utilizes the waste oil from the service department as the fuel source.  This creates a highly efficient mechanical systems that will be very economical to operate.

Contract Freighters, Inc.

Joplin, MO

  • A 130,000 SF, 4-Story corporate building houses the main operations of the company
  • The drivers dispatch and facility is a remote single-story building with basement.  It includes dispatch, commons area, sleeping quarters, restroom and shower facilities, basketball court, and weight room.  
  • The inspection and truck wash building includes multiple inspection bays, drive thru auto truck wash bays, and a 4-lane fueling canopy with 100,000 gallons of diesel storage.
  • The maintenance facility includes 8-bays to maintain the fleets vehicles. 

Sparklight

Joplin, MO (Formerly 'Cable One')

  • Cable One had outgrown their former building location and it did not allow them to expand their tele-communications system for the projected growth on the internet / phone industry.
  • The nearly 9,000 S.F. facility allowed Cable One to establish a new tele-communications hub in a severe weather resistant structure.
  • A modern open office concept was implemented to allow their staff collaborative interaction that wasn’t possible in the former location.

SNC Squared

Joplin, MO

  • After the 2011 Joplin Tornado nearly destroyed this building, SNC acquired the property and PLJBD began the design process to create their new corporate headquarters. 
  • The 2-story building is designed to reflect the high-tech electronic/data service that SNC provides their clients. Much of the exterior appearance was inspired by pixels.  
  • The life-like computer generated rendering allowed the clients to see what the building would actually look like, inside and out, before construction even started. 

Jackson County Animal Shelter

Independence, MO

  • This 27,169 S.F. facility on a 6-acre lot was constructed to replace the existing City of Independence animal shelter and provide for additional county usage. 
  • This facility is sited on a 6-acre tract.  The facility houses Animal Control and Adoption offices, Administration and Volunteer offices, Community Meeting/Training Room, Veterinarian Clinic facilities, including surgery rooms and pharmacy.

  • Support facilities include dog and cat kitchens, 2 laundries, donation supply storage, garage facilities and fenced exterior exercise areas and equipment storage.
